Position Summary

In collaboration with the hospital president and FH CNO, provides leadership, direction, and administration of direct patient care activities within designated hospital. The nurse executive supports the nursing vision and plan and is accountable to drive, support and role model a patient centric culture focused on employee engagement, quality, patient safety, fiscal responsibility, and the overall patient experience.

 

Must be able to work in partnership with hospital president, system CNO and other hospital and system leaders to live the core purpose of FirstHealth and deliver results. Demonstrated business, financial, and clinical skills to manage the operations of assigned departments to ensure high quality, patient focused care required. Must have demonstrated experience in leading within a Professional Governance environment. Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills with the ability to develop and coach staff as well as the ability to delegate appropriately.  Strong listening and critical thinking skills required. Must have strong skills in the management of human resources with the ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. Strong planning and organization skills required. Must be committed to diversity and inclusion. Strong skills in leveraging technology for productivity and nursing information systems required.

Qualifications

Must have at least five (5) years of progressive nursing leadership experience within a progressive, acute care facility required. Experience within a Magnet designated facility preferred. Experience within a DNV facility preferred

Registered Nurse licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina or Compact State Licensure required. Master’s degree required, if in a field other than nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing Required. Doctor of Nursing Practice preferred
